About
Christina Welzer is a Korean American artist whose works serve as a visible expression of internal conflicts and suppressed emotions. With her delicate and labor-intensive collage and drawing practice, Welzer unveils the hidden narratives of rage, fear, and resilience that often lie beneath a serene surface. All projects are centered around a process-oriented, figurative core that join to create hypnotic, hybrid experiences. Her works have been exhibited at NY Asian Arts Festival, Spring/Break NYC, Tunnel Projects Miami, Focus Art Fair NYC, and published in Hyperallergic, Far-Near, Chinatown Futures Vol. 1,2 and AAP Association Vol. 9. She received her BFA from Cornell University in May of 2019. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn New York.
